Outside the small shopping centre in the suburb of Fagnieres near Chalons-en-Champagne, I found a number of what might be lengths of Decauville track sections that had been used to make flowerbeds.

The inside edge of the top of the rail is traditional railway pattern, bulging out at the top (like a p or q shape), but the outer edge is flush; did Decauville (or any other manufacturer) produce track like this? The centre tie rods do look vaguely like the sorts of thing Decauville used; someone appears to have welded what look like new pieces across the ends to complete the oblong.

Didn't have a tape measure with me so couldn't check the gauge but it seems to be around 60cm.

Chalons was a major centre of operations in World War 1, so a guess there must have been lots of Decauville material around at one time. Decauville-1.jpg Decauville-2.jpg
