I don't have a list of vehicle numbers, but as of last week a total of 104 have been scrapped (that is excluding those lost in accidents).

Is that excluding DVTs? I have 111, but 7 DVTs included in the list.

It says it was updated on 11th May. Which TfW changes are missing?

The fact they own 45 Mark 4s.

The latest version on our website (https://225group.org/fleet/) accurately reflects the state of play at the start of May, with information that is confirmed via and published in agreement with our authoritative TOC sources. With regards to the original enquiry, which pertains to scrapped Mark IV rolling stock, it is correct.

An updated fleet list will generally be published during the second week of each month, unless the are significant changes that require a more frequent alteration. By all means, if you have confirmed information we welcome this via email, [email protected].

It’s not up-to-date though. It doesn’t reflect the TfW position accurately, as a starting point.
On the topic of accuracy, which is something you seem very keen on, TfW do not 'own' any Mark 4 vehicles; they are all leased from Eversholt Rail.

With all due respect, you’re wrong. 45 vehicles have been sold by Eversholt to TfW Rail - they are shown as such on the national vehicle register. It’s also reported in the current Rail Express. Suggest you check your sources!

Secondary sources, such as the rail press, are not “reliable”. Media 101: you wait until organisations (primary sources) confirm things themselves before you put them into other secondary sources. If you are also working with organisations then you respect their confidences before you arbitrarily place things into the public domain.

As I said, if you have a public, primary source I’m more than happy to pass it along - but clearly this is not the case. For the record, there’s numerous other magazines - published later than Rail Express - that contradict the printed information.

You might benefit from some media training as well as spending some time with key stakeholders to better grasp how information exchange happens to please all stakeholders. :)

I’ve already told you the primary source.

I’ll await your apology when your sources catch up.

I presume it must be, I did see 111 somewhere else but I couldn't find that figure again so went with the 104 but the addition of DVTs would explain the discrepancy.

This is a really useful list - many thanks.

Tracing back through this thread and other sources, I am missing the scrapping locations for a number of coaches. Can anyone help with the following:

AD1J: 11201, 11219, 11278, 11281, 11283, 11294, 11304, 11307, 11309, 11311, 11327, 11329, 11330, 11405, 11407, 11410, 11425, 11430
AI2J: 12218, 12227
AL2J: 12314, 12317, 12318, 12321, 12322, 12327, 12331
AC2J: 12439, 12440, 12449, 12462, 12464, 12471, 12488, 12519, 12522

Thanks in anticipation.
