Is it possible to get delay compensation from Virgin Trains when travelling on a megabus ticket? The terms on the megabus website appear to say no, but the Virgin Passengers' Charter reads otherwise.

I was delayed by over three hours a couple of nights ago, arriving at 0230. It seems unfair that megabus ticket holders would in effect be penalised versus paper ticket holders who are eligible for a 100% refund.

Thanks in advance for helpful responses.

No compensation whatsoever on Megabus tickets I'm afraid. As per the Terms and Conditions of the ticket you bought.

There's no delay compensation, but Virgin do have a duty to get you to your destination. People on Megabus tickets are still entitled to a taxi or hotel accommodation if they can't get to their destination by rail due to disruption.

But no, you won't be compensated for the delay as by travelling using Megabus you agree to waive this right. The NRCoC are amended in your case, which you agree to.
