Hi guys, i had a bit of a look around on here and on the NRE site but couldn't find an answer. I'm planning a North East 4 in 8 (or maybe 7 day if my work commitments allow it) trip towards the end of March where by one or more days i will start and end from home but one or more days i shall be staying in a hotel or similar.
I wondered how rovers work, i'm not specifically wanting to claim if a train i am on is late, specifically as some of my journey will be planned yet a lot of it will be decisions made on the spot, but i am a little concerned as to what happens if say i am due to stay in Hexham overnight and due to a delay on a train to Newcastle i miss the last connection to Hexham. Do the same rules still apply that they (I guess the TOC responsible for the delay) will find alternative transport. I always try to leave a bit of a buffer when it comes to "last trains of the day" and stuff but sometimes it can go quite wrong.
