Does anyone know why all traffic seems to have been using the Up Relief on the approach from the west to Didcot for these two days?

Platform 2 (Up Main) was out of action so everything shifted over one platform, with London bound HSTs for example using platform 3, which is normally the Down Relief

Not strictly true, the line leading to Platform 2 had been suffering a reoccurring track circuit failure - resulting in some trains being diverted through platform 3 as it was quicker than cautioning trains, when the fault was present platform 2 was only being used when required for regulation.

And seemingly still ongoing, went through platform 3 on an up HST this morning, and according to RTT nothing has used platform 2 all day.
