Hi, can anyone help solve a problem for my sister? She has a Disable Rail card and a freedom pass. She lives near Hackney Downs stations and works near London Bridge. She has to leave well before 9.30am so has to purchase a single ticket from Hackney Downs to Liverpool street every day. It seems though that the rail card discount is not available on oyster before 9.30am but it is using paper tickets so this is what she is doing. She is registered blind and faffing about with 5 single tickets a week is a bit of a pain, is there a solution? A season ticket is no use because after 9.30am she can just use her freedom pass to get home so it is only the mornings that she needs a ticket.

I know it's only 40p a day difference if she just used an oyster card but it would be good to find a better way for her to do this.

Thanks for your help.

Could she walk down the road to Hackney Central, get the Overground to Stratford, and then the Jubilee line to the Bridge? This takes around 35 Min so would only be around 10 Min longer, and the entire journey would be free, at any time.

If having to queue up to buy paper tickets is irritating, then they can be bought online, and posted to you, or collected from the station, including in advance, for no fee, if you buy from the right website.
