Hi,

I am interested in DOO operations on the national network, so far i am aware of three routes that use DOO, the WAGN network, Didcot-Paddington and London Victoria to Brighton. On the Victoria-Brighton route, which services are DOO, just the stoppers or the Brighton Expresses as well? Also, which service on the WAGN network use DOO, are the Cambridge Cruisers DOO? Are there any other DOO routes than the ones i have already mentioned? Is the Birmingham Cross City route DOO?

Thanks

Nathan

Most of WAGN is DOO, presumably as far as Cambridge (?)
Chiltern is DOO south of Banbury (?), except some of the Birmingham fasts (plus trolley-does that count) and the bubble.
Euston-Watford DC is driver-only, not sure on other 313 routes...
No, cross-city is not DOO (dont think any of Central is)

All of Southern's suburban routes operated mostly by 319s, 455s & 456s are DOO.

The signaller/control can also make general broadcasts, send stop signalling and make PA annoucements.

Shame signalmen don't make a PA announcement to tell the passengers the problem.

With CSR, if a train SPADs can signalmen automatically make other trains ermergency brake over CSR or does the signalman just tell the driver to stop so he can apply sand if need be?

The following are all Driver Only Operation:
In the passenger dept: Most are in the former Network South East area

The Chiltern Line up to Banbury.
First Capital Connect ALL services.
Southern ALL the surburban and most of the Express style services. I think the only services not DOO are the Coast routes and the Watford Junction service (from Clapham Junction).
Not sure about South Eastern but i think most of it is DOO.
First Great Western all the former Thames trains services.
Virtually all c2c services.
All services on One Great Eastern, except on the Walton on Naze services from Thorpe Le Soken.
All services on One West Anglia.
All services on Stanstead Express.
On Silverlink only the London Euston to Watford Junction DC services are DOO.
I also belive most of the services in the Glasgow suburban area are all DOO.

Not sure of any other passenger services that are DOO.

On the freight side:
EWS, GBRF, Freightliner are ALL DOO operated.

DRS has Guards on its Flasks services , but most of it is DOO.

On the trams i think all Tram services are operated on a DOO style service.
The Tyne and Wear Metro is DOO.
London Underground is ALL DOO.

I stand corrected if some of the info is not right.

The Southern Watford-Clapham Junction is not DOO, they require a guard to sound the bell (ah, the good old days with the 319s! :))
