Ely. The station is on the first raised bit of land you get to on the Fens! Even on a calm day it feels incredibly windy.

At least Platform 2 has the portakabin to wait in...

Canning Town DLR. It's got all the elements. Up on a viaduct. Island platform so the buildings are in the middle and the waiting passengers on the outside. Interchange station with trains to multiple destinations in both directions, so a lot of waiting. No side-screening or waiting shelters at all.

In particular, the underground platforms at Manchester Victoria, as well as Leeds.

Yes, agree on Leeds - spent many, many hours there over the years freezing while waiting for connections. The waiting facilities are pretty crap for such a large station.

Plymouth if a north wind as P8 is very exposed. Never used to be so bad if a parcel train was stabled as that acted as a barrier but since 2004 there are no parcel trains down in Devon.

However, with a south west wind, Plymouth, especially P4, could actually be one of the more pleasant stations in winter.

Merseyrail yellow shelter design is so bad you’re usually better off standing outside, even if you’re at the top of an embankment. Big gaps at the top and bottom turn them into wind tunnels specifically designed to chill your ankles and face.
I'd say they're okay, but the fact that they have no doors makes it cold.

Prevailing winds west to east make Bristol Parkway (the Arctic) a horrible place to be, especially when there’s a wind chill.

Another vote for Bristol Parkway, particularly in Feb 2001 when the platform shelters were just two bits of corrugated metal. Would have thought the expansion since then would have improved things but apparently not.

Old Roan, Slaithwaite, Batley and Mirfield can all be a bit windswept in the wrong atmospheric conditions.

Bridgend is another that always seems to be very windy. The wind must blow straight down the valley!

The Cumbrian Coast stations which are alongside the sea can be extremely draughty on a windy day - Seascale, Sellafield, Braystones and Nethertown.

They are all open stations though, aren't they? Lacking canopies and the enclosure of substantial buildings?

I've found London Bridge station to be very windy and cold, again raised platforms.

It can be pretty draughty on Chester station over by platform 7B where the Merseyrail trains depart.

I can remember a few freezing cold hours 'in' Darlington station when hunting Pacers in 2017/2018 when they were on borrowed time.

Darlington is always freezing in the middle of summer. It's almost a perfect wind tunnel.

Exeter St David's.

It's the only station I've actually felt cold whilst waiting for my train. Great Western (or whatever they were called back then) weren't at all sympathetic.
