DRS 37 + 3 Network rail cars

I've just seen a DRS 37 with 3 network rail cars on the bridge into NCL. Does anyone have any information about this? Whats it doing up here? Where is it going? etc?

UTU2 transit from RTC to Heaton as 3Z04, to form 2341 3Q08 Heaton to Neville Hill. Ultrasonic working, testing the Up Fasts between Newcastle and Doncaster, and Doncaster to South Kirkby Jn.
