There was a rake of 3 or 4 drs liveried coaches top and tailed by 2 x 47 leaving bletchley carriage sidings at about 1620 heading north. The rear loco was a two tone green 47

Does that suggest a movement of carriages (The former DRS mark 3s are now owned by DB) for refurbishment at Doncaster to form the new ATW WAG Express stock from December then?

Quite possibly, or for Chiltern, but I've no idea why they were at Bletchley.

It turns out it was a 56 and a 47; 56312 and 47812. The carriages involved (just in case anyone wants to know) were 11019 + 11030 + 11046 + 11054.

There's a decent photo of the move here: http://www.leightonlogs.org/30031256312.jpg

It has been said that the clearout of Bletchley depot has been necessary because the 317/7s will be going for warm storage there.
