For anyone interested, or not, here is what went through Durham between 2300 and 0015 last night:

2259: 221135 "Donald Campbell" (N/B)
2259: 91125 "Berwick-upon-Tweed" (S/B with drunken yobs!)

2306: 91127 "Edinburgh Castle" (N/B)

2317: 60088 (S/B with TEA/TDA tanks)

0001: 91120 "Royal Armouries" (N/B)

0013: 66002 "Lafarge Quorn" (?) (N/B 6S62->Mossend)

Whilst walking back there was something that went over the viaduct...could've been a 60 or the 92 that we really wanted to see...never mind! V quiet night for a change.

Regards

Dave

Since when was there that many 92s between 0030 and 1030 when we did the overnighter there? Didn't get anywhere near 14! I noted about...9 on that night.

Durham, Friday 18th-Sat 19th November

My god it's cold out tonight people. Anyway, here is what myself and Ian (bluecont) saw through Durham from 2300-0001 (cos it really is too cold!)

2253: 91122 "Double Trigger" and DVT 82214 (N/B)

2258: 220021 "Staffordshire Voyager" (N/B)

2259: 91132 "City of Durham and DVT 82228 (S/B, great name that loco!)

2319: 60030 and TEA/TDA tanks (S/B)

0001: SNCF-owned 92018 "Stendhal" plus at least 30 wagons, if not more, on 6S62 Doncaster-Mossend.

That last one is what we went for, and what makes the cold worth it!

The 92 was arcing (green!) like nobodies business, probably cos it's just come out of store and the pan is rusty, and also because all electrics (inc 91s) are arcing off the frost on the contact wire tonight. Much more impressive than that 66 two weeks ago though...which wouldn't have managed to move that load at all!

From a freezing cold Durham (and yes, that's about -2/-4 degrees Celsius)!

Cheers

92043 came through after I arrived. I saw it at Crewe before I got my 390 up North, it must have been looped somewhere.

Durham Tues-Weds 13th-14th December

Last one for this year gang:

2303: 66056+TTA(? tanks ?) (n/b)

2309: 91112 "County of Cambridgeshire" and DVT 82226 (n/b)

2317: 60047+TEA tanks (s/b)

2338: 66206+HTA hoppers (n/b)

0010: 66244+HTA hoppers (s/b)

0015: 142090 (ECS) (s/b)

0027: 43112 "Doncaster" and 43119 "Harrogate Spa" on the late running 0023.

0033: 158764 (n/b)

0043: 66050 (on what looked like 6S62...rats!)

That's it! It's still cold, but as not as cold as it was last time. No 92, but there is single line working (on the UP line) from Durham n/b. Ie everything was slowing down through the station.

From the North
