NRE is reporting 2 hour delays this morning due to "A problem with line-side equipment" at Tring.

Looking on Twitter, London Midland have said the the problem has been caused by a freight train damaging points. Trains also cannot be moved onto the fast lines as engineering work is taken place. About 3/4 trains currently "trapped" behind the problem, some for over 2 hours now. Reports on Twitter that a conductor on board 1 train has said that trains wont be moving for another 2 hours.

Dont know if the northbound Lowland Sleeper has been affected or if trains will be affected in the morning.

Going to be a long night for some people.

1S26 was nearly three hours late when it finally got moving from where it was held at Bourne End until the Fast lines re-opened, now rapidly clawing back some time ("only" 136 minutes late at Nuneaton). Only one train still trapped now (a freight).
Going to be a long night for some people.
Indeed, looks like some of us will be late getting home this morning.

The Highland Sleeper pulled into Euston alongside my Pendolino this morning, at around 0841, an hour late.
