chat to you soon mate, and stop moaning about the early starts, wait till it's 3 or 4 in the morning, then you MIGHT get an ounce of sympathy.

Keep us posted with how you get on

Surely that ain't enough time to find some clean socks 10 seconds if that, get dressed shirt trousers jumper all easy reach, ie on floor beside bed, have a dump dont need to in the morning, do that at night, more relaxed, time to read radio times/newspaper/magazine etc, eat brekkie dont have breakfast, even if i have it still hungry by lunch so I see no point in it, shave Dont shave, hence why I look a tramp, clean teeth only a 1minute job etc Pee dont take long either, nor does washing face, thing that probably takes most time is looking for mobile and wallet and keys etc.

As for having a Dump I do it at Night. Not rushed either and can have time to read ma magazine.

stop highjacking my thread ya bloody frothing veg!!!!

;)

Sproggy is back after his first full day on SPM!

Firstly, had to check all, and then replace 3 brake pipes as part of an E exam on the 'maintenace' set currently on shed....hope they work :| ;) very BIG ajustable spanner though!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For anyone whos interested, the maintenace set is 'PM08'

AVOID IT! muwha <D

and then spent the rest of the afternoon on.............

............153382

Bloody rancid skateboard!

Had to do a 'balanced' 'A' exam on her!

Problem is cus the units are new to SPM, we where basically pretty cluless.

Firsts managers' idea of training is taking the guys down to Exeter for the day and walking them round a unit a few times.

We where constantly reffering to the VMOI (Vehicle Maintenace Operating Instructions ) [pronounced "VEE-MOY"] almost all the way throung each Job, so it was slow going! Only got about a third through the exam this afternoon!

Garunteed ill be working on it tomorrow aswell!

Would also help if SPM stocked the correct spares aswell!

This should all change when ther new (though already behind sheduale by 5 weeks *DOH!*) specialised DMU facilites are availiable at the 'marsh'

My tasks included changing the brake blocks and doing basic tests etc aswell as visual checks and brake testing!

Got to start the 'beast' *slaps self* and all 8)

a few 'snaps' curtosy of my phone are to come soon........:)

Just to get off the HELLFIRE for a minute or two....

So you deal with all FGW fleet now as opposed to HSTs Brother Sprog? :)

Interesting. Maybe you should set up a (hellfire) blog or something to update about your training?

153382...bl**dy rancid skateboard seems bit of a bad attitude; everyday hundreds of people will rely on that unit to be well maintained so that they can travel safely, comfortably and without delay. The maintenance of these units is every bit as important as that of the 'high speed' trains.

Looks like you spent most of the day ensuring FGW's trains can stop. All very necessary (for obvious safety reasons); perhaps a bit more focus on getting the things going is needed!!

It will be interesting to see how the unit reliability fares once maintenence is concentrated more 'in-house'.
