according to national rail enquires, East Coast service between Leeds and Wakefeild westgate are being diverted with journey times extened by 20 mintes. does any one know any more about this as any information whould be ideal as im planing on traveling from leeds to london on that day.

Well, I wasn't aware of it until you mentioned it, but the National Rail site does have information as you say:

Seems that this will mean reversals at Wakefield Westgate, and then running via Kirkgate and onwards to Leeds. See http://traintimes.im/rail-details/G02822/2012/05/27/ for an example.

Almost certainly EC HSTs I reckon. There's certainly enough spare on a Sunday to provide one an hour to Leeds (needs four units? five?).

These diversions were in place a few sundays back and yes all Leeds services were HST that day.
