I don't know when this particular one came and went, but I have noticed they seem to chop and change the Day Ranger tickets in the North West quite a bit. Not sure why this might be, compared to other parts of the country.
Some time ago (2007, maybe) I had a grand day out with a similar one called the
Mills and Markets Ranger - also now long gone.
The M&M DR was quite a bit cheaper than today's
Lancashire Day Ranger, and covered a more restricted area (Preston/Bolton/Wigan/Manchester/Halifax/Colne/Clitheroe IIRC), but plenty for a nice day out at a reasonable cost. When I had an unexpected spare day and looked to buy another one the following year, the ticket had gone!
Adding to my annoyance, the Cheshire Day Ranger (another of my favourites) no-longer includes the Wigan/Manchester or Wigan/Warrington services, which it used to cover in the past.
So not surprising the East Lancs one has also disappeared - it did look good if available on
Witch Way buses too.
