Still got that Stagecoach SWT/EMT typeface on the carraige number though...

Hopefully Abellio will realise that it is gross and change it like they did with WMR

Chance would be a fine thing.

TfWM thought that the "purple people mover" livery originally applied to 172339 was sub-par and asked Abellio/JR East/Mitsui (i.e. WM Trains) to change it, as they wanted it to reflect their long term vision of a devolved operation of railways in and around the West Midlands.
LNWR, however, has not changed. I can't see Abellio changing EMR on a whim.

They did change the LNR logo subtly - different emphasis and different font. The livery is still sub-par (I agree with that term!) though.

Yes, priorities like an EMR android app would be nice to have had for the franchise start.

Absolutely something in the water down south.
West Midlands Trains and their assortments of green, oranges and purples and now this!

I'm really surprised they didn't as the other Abellio TOCs did.

Looks great in this pic I reckon - https://flic.kr/p/2h1mjWB

It's not another boring livery with a white / grey base, and it stands out to set it apart from other operators. Seems it's a very Marmite livery though!

I think it's slightly enhanced by what looks like a white stripe at the top (though actually isn't - it's a reflection).

That makes it not entirely dissimilar in concept to the NatEx era Caledonian Sleeper livery (not my photo):

Interesting that the horizontal-stripes "device" at the nose end is not dissimilar to the old Chiltern logo in concept.

What I am happy to see is the proper return of the "INTERCITY" brand!

    Abellio have officially launched EMR:

Interestingly enough unlike what was shown on the pictures of the new livery designs. The intercity livery on 222/104 hasnt got the gold doors or logo but silver instead. Want the regional trains meant to have silver?

Wouldn't be surprised if they have standardised on the livery designs across the whole fleet.

Doesn't look like they've refurbished it inside.

Hopefully they were better than the stale doughnuts that staff received last week to mark the passing of East Midlands Trains.

I quite like it. The return of InterCity and almost a proper yellow stripe for first class. Is the colour between the white stripes slightly lighter than the rest or is it an optical illusion?

Is this the 'shock of the new', or is it 'the shock of the old'?

I quite like the livery, it suits the 222 well in my opinion.

I quite like it too, I think the return of the yellow band for First is very welcome.

The difference is though, the EMT scheme included the full words EAST MIDLANDS TRAINS, which conveyed a sense of purpose to many people.
EMR will mean nothing to the average traveller.

The full form is in small text somewhere on the bodyside, isn't it?

So have staff got any new uniform such as new ties or HV vests?

Have to say I don’t mind that livery, although I think the treatment at the very front and rear could benefit from some tweaking, the way the stripes converge doesn’t sit well with my eyes at all.

Agree with the point about EMR. I think they’d be better with the full TOC name and not having the Intercity bit.

Rather unfortunately I can’t help but think of a certain scrap dealer when hearing EMR, but I realise that’s probably not a major issue for most punters.

The livery is certainly better than VTEC, which to me looks like someone has repeatedly had diarrhoea over the top of the train.

Was on a 222 Sunday heading up north and the train manager had a EMR lanyard, badge and tie, also the girl running the trolley had a purple fleece on over her normal EMT uniform but didn’t notice if it had EMR on it or she was just on the ball colour coding from her own wardrobe,

Slightly OT but Virgin's repainted 221s are black on the front with a yellow vinyl cover.
There was a plan to upgrade the lights, then take the yellow front off but not sure where that is now they've lost the franchise.
Unless it's a manufacturer / ROSCO led project....
