Simple question, - does Friday 19th April (Good Friday) count as a bank holiday for the purpose of ticket restrictions please?

Errr, Smethwick!
It should do, as the UK Government categorically lists it as a bank holiday, declared under current statutory provision, at https://www.gov.uk/bank-holidays.
For many decades Good Friday was a traditional public holiday, not a bank holiday, but the situation was tidied up a fair few years back, I believe, and all bank holidays (and substitute days where, for example, Christmas Day would fall on a weekend) are declared using the same statutory instrument.

Thanks both. I was concerned as BT continues to say that only weekends and 'bank holidays' qualify as off-peak in terms of phone calls yet they still charge weekday rates on Christmas day, the some restrictions on rail tickets might similarly be conveniently exempted.
