Eastleigh100 UPDATE (30th March)

Eastleigh will host the first public appearance for more than 18 years of No. 50026 Indomitable. In it’s final stages of a restoration to main line condition, the loco, once a resident of Booth’s Rotherham, will be started publicly for the first time on the Saturday. Finished in large logo blue livery, the weekend will also see the loco re-dedicated by some of the survivors of the WW2 aircraft carrier that was scrapped in 1955. Withdrawn in December 1990, after a spell at Laira and Booth’s the loco, intended as a source of spares for 50027 Lion, was moved to MoD Bicester for restoration, and was the loco that was dropped. Fully repaired, it’s appearance is not to be missed.

Also appearing, and making its debut in Loadhaul livery will be No. 50035 Ark Royal, and it is hoped this loco will be rededicated too.

There should also be on site a couple of Class 59, a pair of Colas 47s, 37425, 47580, and some DRS Class 37s.

Tickets for Saturday are selling fast and it is recommended that visitors opt for Sunday/Monday.

Sounds interesting, A friend of mine has purchased tickets for me and him (although I cannot go) :( can't spare the time, plus getting from Essex seems to hit the usual multitude of engineering works on the way....

There are people coming from Scotland for the open day... although I can see your point as engineering works are such effort. I am lucky to have got mine they sold out a few weeks ago!.

Yes, that's why there are still lots of tickets available then isn't it?

An extra 1000 tickets were released for saturday after selling out, and they are all but sold out as of today's date.

The site is more than adequate for the extra visitors, the problems come with access for the residents, and such things as site insurance etc. It is unlikely there will be any more tickets released.

Advance tickets for Saturday's event , May 23rd 2009 , have now all been sold. If you have already applied for that day , then they will be available in the post in the next few days.
Advance tickets are still available for Sunday 24th May , and Monday 25th May.
Thanks to all those who have supported the event, on behalf of all the charities who will benefit.

There are still some 'on-the-day' tickets reserved , and will be available. See the website for acceptable means of payment on the day.
Once they've gone-- as they say..

Insurance and local authority requirements limit the number of people on the site.

To clarify the situation with tickets on the day for Saturday 23rd May, there will be tickets available at the gate. They are limited by the number of people onsite at any one time, so there may be be a wait... Advance tickets have all been sold.

There have been a large number of enquiries about tickets on the gate at Eastleigh100 open weekend, particularly for the Saturday.

Additional resources will allow us to substantially increase the number of on-the-gate visitors, and we are confident of accommodating everyone.

Gate prices are:

Adult £14
Child £7
Senior £12
Family 1 adult 2 kids £22
Family 2+£ £35

And it’s cash only – no facility for cards. There are plenty of ATMs in the town.

When I did LM in 2007 it was a fiver!

Great news for EH, just booked tickets for a mate who couldn't go before to get down to Southampton. Took an hour but hey!

Bring on Saturday!
