This story is in today's Eastern Daily Press / Norwich Evening News.

Broadland District Council said a study on the Bittern Line had found a “strong” business case for both schemes and warranted further research.

It is now looking to work with other partner organisations to move the vision forward.

A council spokesperson said: “Any improvements to the Bittern Line, including the new station, would not only provide better transport links to workers, but would add to the prestige of the Broadland Business Park for jobs growth as a more desirable location for businesses.”

...

Further details from a recently completed study of the line will be looked at during Broadland’s cabinet meeting in September.

I'm not sure what the article is referring to in the first para (above) in terms of "both schemes."

Broadland Business Park is in an interesting location re: the railways, about half a mile north-east of where the Bittern (Norwich - Sheringham) and Wherry (Norwich - Great Yarmouth) Lines separate, east of Norwich. Map.

The Bittern Line passes closer to the business park, but the Wherry Line passes right by the Postwick Park & Ride site. The thinking seems to be that a new station on the Bittern Line has the best chance of appealing to current car users.

I'd have imagined that, with Yarmouth being more industrial, and seeking to regenerate and improve, that the Wherry Line would be the better option. As picturesque as the Bittern Line is, it leads to Sheringham and Cromer, which are tourist economies rather than "enterprise"-based.
