Hey guys, I've got a few videos I have on YouTube to show you guys, but I can't see how to embed (allow the video to be played on the forum post without having to leave the site) YouTube videos into the post?

I have seen it done elsewhere on the forum, I just can't work out how to do it myself

Thanks in advance!

  1. Take the URL of the youtube video. Eg:
    Code:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ&ob=av3e
  2. Snip anything before (and including) the equals sign after the v:
    Code:
    dQw4w9WgXcQ&ob=av3e
  3. If applicable snip & and anything after it:
    Code:
    dQw4w9WgXcQ
  4. You can now wrap this text in youtube tags:
    Code:
    [plain][youtube]dQw4w9WgXcQ[/youtube][/plain][/list]

    Resulting in:
    [youtube]dQw4w9WgXcQ[/youtube]

You need to use [youtube] [/youtube] tags with the bit inbetween the tags being the code after the watch?v=.

So for example to turn this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrGuVa-4BVE

Into an embedded video you need to do this:

[youtube]DrGuVa-4BVE[/youtube0]

Remember to omit the 0 at the end of the last tag! That will have this effect:

[youtube]DrGuVa-4BVE[/youtube]
