Are these receiving some sort of refurbishment at the moment?

New automated PA new toilets power points etc?

Thought this was why the swt unit is on loan

No, not for some time yet.
The swt unit is for the increase in services for the Matlock to Notts being extended to Newark
Castle.There will probably be another one joining us soon as well.
