Just seen on the front screen of the TVM in the down side waiting room at Grantham. The front screen states that the machine can issue Groupsave tickets but not ScotRail Groupsave. However, searching for an example journey to Nottingham for three passengers does not show up the Groupsave 3 fare, which is issued in the same style as a ScotRail ticket.

Possibly one for @Wallsendmag of this parish.

The EMT Groupsave product is the same as the Scotrail product and not sold for the same reasons. The fault is with the set-up of the product, not of the TVM.

Agreed. Apologies if I wasn't clear. The front screen needs East Midlands Groupsave added to the list of tickets the machines can't issue, then job done.

Agreed.

Though it's not really a proper solution in my mind; I don't understand why EMT and Scotrail don't use the proper GroupSave discount, rather than their own botched version of it.

EMT have even been known to penalise customers for using the 'wrong type' of GroupSave; it's absolute madness.

Unfortunately there is no organisation that has the power or desire to do anything about it :(

Indeed. It's massively frustrating that there isn't simply a national group travel discount, rather than each company offering its own product. The situation where customers can get 'Groupsave' when they needed 'Group Save' or similar is barmy.

If central administration of railcard discounts can be managed, why not small group travel discounts? Large group bookings (more than 9) could still be handled by telephone or at ticket offices as they mostly seem to be now.
