Hi there,
I've got one of the East Midlands Trains Smartcards. I got it thinking it'd make my travel a bit simpler.
Hmmm....
So far the *only* place I have had it register correctly and without fuss is at Beeston station. Absolutely everywhere else it won't register or flags up an error message. I have yet to complete a single journey with it working for all stages.
(It seems that it needs a clear line of sight to an ATOS office for it to work!

It appears not an uncommon problem as many of the gateline staff roll thier eyes and the chattier ones comment about yet another one not working.
Am I cursed or is the whole EMT smartcard system really quite unreliable?
