There is plenty of information from TfL on step-free access to tube stations but is there an equivalent guide on stations that may involve steps to access them but where escalators can be avoided? My wife is a guide dog owner. She is perfectly able to use stairs but the dog cannot use an escalator. To know which stations have the option of steps, even they also have escalators, would open up options to a bigger range of stations than can be identified than though the step-free guide. Is such a guide avsilable?

You might find the Avoiding Stairs Tube Guide helpful. The map distinguishes between stations with lift and escalator access, which might help with route planning.

Alternatively, this information from the TfL website might be useful.

We work closely with Guide Dogs so their assistance dogs are trained to use escalators across our network. Only trained dogs with appropriate identification can use moving escalators. If your dog is not trained, staff will help you avoid escalators (for example by using lifts and stairs). If you can't avoid the escalator they will stop it so you can walk. This may not be possible in busy periods so staff will help you replan your journey by another route.
