This is going to sound mean, but a lot like Mr C Ronaldo, I didn't want him specifically to win. I cannot stand the man, I find him repulsive, arrogant and smug; he quite clearly shows how much tosh he speaks with his postman comment (with what he did against Germany), and that's before the acts of thuggery he showed against Alex Song and Scott Parker last season. He is a more talented Joey Barton in my eyes, pure and simple. He doesn't deserve an ounce of success on that scale until he changes his ways.

You don't want one the game's cheaters to win? Seems entirely fair to me

Some viewing figures from Sunday night:

BBC1 Euro 2012 Final coverage - 13,400,000
ITV1 Euro 2012 Final coverage - 2,300,000

Do you think the shows the BBC's superiority, or just how bad ITV are with football?

Epic Facebook comment - 'If Mark Lawrenson found a fifty pound note on the ground he'd complain about litter.' I personally love his dour, dull, depressing outlook on life.

To be fair though Paul - we do have some 'World class' players. Its just that they can never seem to play together.

I honestly beg to differ. To be a World Class player, you have to have done something to demonstrate as such on the world stage. And as far as I recall, England don't have anyone who fits that bill.

I am shocked that 2.3m people watched ITV, as their track record of covering sport is terrible. Did the viewers get to see the whole game?!

I can only imagine these were people who felt like living dangerously and like a challenge.

Does that mean you can only be a "world class" player in a successful team? Or that, if you play in a successful team you are more likely to be "World Class"? If you put, say, Messi, in a team of the calibre of, say, Watford, week in week out, would anyone say he was "World class"?I suspect that the whole idea of "World Class" is simply a journalistic hyperbole, getting in the way of assessing a team game as a team game, not one played by 11 individuals.
