What are the timings for this please. If they email now to say weekend train times have changed I presume that will count as delay?

Yes email with revised timetable for weekend due to engineering works. One day before! Less than an hour added to journey so will get zilch back.

Poor notice.
Are timings different from on ES website for tomorrow? I can't see delays of more than 20min max.

With advance warning they are hardly forced to pay money back, only in case If there is substantiable enough delay ABOVE the advised new timings. Same applies f.e. to airlines, but there is a MINimum set time before travel they have to advise you (force majeure excepted). You cannot have everything all the time.
