Got a text from a friend claiming that there was a suicide affecting services in or around Euston during the evening peak and wondering if I knew about it. Frankly I have no idea.

    Any offers...? Tube, perhaps...?

Euston tube was closed this evening I understand.

EDIT: From the Virgin Twitter feed: "INFO: Euston Underground station is currently shut" 7 hours ago.
And then "INFO: Euston Underground station has now reopened" 5 hours ago.

Ouch! And at rush hour as well? Double ouch!

What goes through the mind of someone like that? Someone take me into the mind of someone like that, what is going through their mind to wanna disrupt everyone around them just to end their own life?

Exactly - so surely that would make you feel sorry for them?

And you wonder why some people dislike you?

Do you think they're thinking logically and making a considered decision about the consequences?

All I know is that a person was "under a train" and Euston Underground station was shut in its entirety for a while from some time just before 1600hrs. There were severe delays on the Victoria line with suspension first from Victoria to Seven Sisters and later on from Warren Street to Highbury and Islington. I believe the situation was more or less resolved at around 2000hrs.

There are comments on various websites that an act of suicide occurred, but I am not in a position to comment as neither I nor anyone I know were there (thank goodness).

I honestly don't think you want to be in the mind of someone like that, and I say that in the most respectful way to both you and suicidal people. I know people who are now "normal" after attempting suicide and it's best not to think about such things in such ways if at all possible.

Was a fatality at Euston on the Victoria Line, was suspended between Victoria and Seven Sisters for a while. Should remember that we cannot be certain if it is a suicide or an accident - but my sympathies go to the persons family, the train driver and the people on the platform that may of witnessed this.

I find it hard to see how you could feel sorry for someone who wants to take their own life and use 'public spectacle' to glorify that.

Their familes and the driver of the tube train get my full sympathy but for someone to take their own life, causing disruption and closures (of the tube station) gets nothing from me I'm afraid

Thing is, someone who does that is highly likely to be not mentally stable - I really feel for people in that state - no-one can imagine what it must be like to want to take your own life... :/

I find this comment out of order. I've suffered from depression and know what it's like to get feelings like that, people don't do it to glorify themselves!

Agree 100% - I'm genuinely interested as to the reasoning behind IPT not feeling sorry for people who obviously aren't mentally stable at the time they decide, regrettably, to take their own lives.

Thanks. I just wanted the info about where the disruption occurred, not to start a big argument over suicide. I can pass the details on to my friend now and this thread can now be closed if the mods decide it is appropriate.

I would love to hear IPT reasons as well. Personally I think people don't do it to just cause a nuisance to commuters, it can be the easiest way to end your life by jumping infront of a 125mph WCML express, painless as well. Im sorry but I won't be particpating on this forum if comments like that arise.

If you must seek attention, please do not do so on this thread. You have no idea as to how your comments might upset other members on here. Engage brain before typing Ian.

Seeing as the original point of the thread has been answered, and IPT now cannot reply, I am going to close this thread. :)
