This would be a very foolish idea by TOCs if they want the passengers to come back.


Transport Secretary Grant Shapps backs mandatory face masks on crowded public transport after laws are revoked, saying he would wear one on the Underground and is 'relaxed' about operators including London's Sadiq Khan bringing in their own rules

The Transport Secretary said he was 'very relaxed' about rail, bus and Underground firms making face coverings a 'condition of carriage', meaning passengers failing to comply cannot travel.

So what happens if you get on a lightly loaded service with no mask but it then fills up later? Are you thrown off the train?
