I appreciate this is not the correct forum for this posting but it did seem the most appropriate on this site;

Can anybody assist me by pointing me in the right direction to research Eastbourne and surrounding stations in the late 1880's where according to birth certificates my great-great grandfather worked as a railway company cashier. Any help would be good ranging from the name of the local operating company to somewhere I could peruse staff lists to follow his career.

Thanks for taking the tiome and again all and any help would be appreciated.

Paul

Nope - not a clue! Try contacting Southern and asking them as they're the current operator of the line.
