I'd briing back the Night Scotsman. They can even change where it runs to if they like, so long as it starts or finishes in Scotland

Any trains bound for Manchester Airport in the small hours is a no-brainer. Not only for passengers meeting up with flights but also employees.

York to Shrewsbury (via Manchester Airport) anyone? Possibly observing the same stops as the long-gone overnight service up to Stalybridge, then Manchester Victoria, Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Airport, Wilmslow, Crewe, and Shrewsbury.

All routes to/from Manchester Airport. Crazy that the existing services don't get you there in time for the morning peak and can't get you home for the last flights in around midnight.
Would be handy having services from places other than Liverpool for getting those early flights (from the west)

All intercity routes out from London to major cities. With flexible working and the "Millennial" preference for experience over material possessions, there may be a captive market for later services allowing late shifts and more socialising (concerts/gigs, sporting events).
Often thought in the past that surely there's a case for the odd train after the pubs/clubs shut. Maybe in Edinburgh a 3:30am train to Glasgow and .similar one in the other direction - same applies for Liverpool-Manchester-Leeds, and no doubt other similar nightlife places

London to Wakefield.

Preferably some sort of a mail train arrangement with a couple of mk 1/2/3's slung on the back (even better if compartment).
Comfortable and would save the cost of overnighting in London.

Lovely.

Used to catch the Saturday night / early monring mail train with Mk 1s on the back from KX to Darlington in the early 80s. Went all round the wilds of Lincolnshire. Great days and a great service.
