Anything that can get me to where I am going on time and comfortably. Not fussed what it looks like or what fuel it uses. I don't like 142/3,s, 153's, 456's, voyagers or the ATW 158's as they do not comply with the above statement.

Are we talking trains or locos here :?

For me, anything that does not involve a unit of some description is good (unless it is being dragged ).

I won't bore you with a list of "foriegn muck" by country, but favoured haulage in the UK is 33s and Westerns.

Don't mind steam, preferably 6201, Duchess, Jubilee, 71000 or 70013, but the only electric thing in this country worthy of the favourite description in my eyes is No.12.

Fave train? Has to be the class 66 (boo I hear you cry) or the 37, perhaps 04. I know the 66 has replaced so many but just look at it... it's a heavenly locomotive. I'm also a fan of the class 14 "teddy bear".

How can you say that the 66 is good?
Teddy Bears are legendary though...
I bet that freightliner will post back in the next 5 minutes...

Although I don't like 66s, they are good for there job and in general have been great for freight traffic in the UK.

Maybe Freightliner should work for the DafT...

are people not allowed to have opinions? Freightliner I can only apologize for the foul behaviour from GNERman. 66s are easily the most reliable locomotive in the country. If they are so rubbish why are their about 450 of them in the UK alone?

Like I said-he did it 3 minutes after me...
They are horrid locos!
Nuff said

But if there were only 5 in the country everyone would like them. The 59's when introduced were most enthusists favouites and there aint a lot of difference. The class 66 is probably the most economical, reliable work horse of a loco to ever travel our rails. Not nostalgic of course. Look how many enthusiasts hated diesels over Steam when they first came in, now you have people naming themselves after diesels - Strange World
