1) Platform 'Meet & Greet' Host

Job description

We are looking for a friendly, welcoming person to join our customer services team at the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways. You will welcome passengers to Harbour Station, Porthmadog, answer enquiries and deal with queries, give information and assist passengers with luggage, pushchairs, wheelchairs etc.

This is a seasonal post from Saturday 17th July 2016 to Sunday 11th September 2016. 40 hours per week, any 5 days out of 7. Weekend and bank holiday working will be required for this position.

Core skills:
‘Front of House’ position so good communication skills and a cheerful disposition are essential
Smart appearance following dress code.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable
Knowledge of locations on the Railways and their use by visitors is required for this position, however training will be given if required
Knowledge of railway operations on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways is desirable
Knowledge of the local area is required

2) Summer of Fun Co-ordinator

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised person to assist the Commercial Manager in coordinating the promotion and execution of the summer family activities on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways.

This position is based at Porthmadog however you will be required to travel to other stations to co-ordinate activities.

40 hours per week, any 5 days out of 7 as rostered, weekend and Bank Holiday working will be required in this position.

This is a seasonal position from 27th June 2016 to 4th September 2016.

Key Duties:

· Help to plan the family summer activities

· Assist with the promotion of these activities

· Work with the Commercial Manager to plan the weekly program

· Travel to the stations where the events are taking place and supervise the activities

· Report back to the Commercial Manager



Core Skills:

· Must be numerate, literate and have good computer skills

· ‘Front of House’ position so good communication skills and a cheerful disposition are essential

· Enjoy working with people, including children

· Smart appearance following dress code

· The ability to speak Welsh is desirable

· Knowledge of locations on the Railways and their use by visitors is desirable

· Full driving license and either access to a vehicle or being eligible to drive a Company vehicle is essential
