I was on the North Downs Line last night and noticed what I thought was the 1st class compartment with absolutely no branding.

Follow the link for a photo. https://drive.google.com/a/a-sharpe.co.uk/file/d/0B_tLDrEhWVgjUDZnbUpsZ2xWZ0E/view

The were no antimacassars, window stickers, door stickers or anything that might suggest it was first class. The door was also not working, I pulled it shut to check if it did have any 1st markings.

Does anyone know if that was actually first class or not? or whether it was declassified?

One end has been permanently declassified on the 166s. I always make a beeline for it.

Thanks, I'll know for the next time. Is there an easy way to tell which end it will be?

The first class 50% removal on these trains started in late 2013, there have been previous threads about it, so please let's not do it all over again?
