Having them all grey would look a bit drab, it's part of the design of the interior. No idea why only one is blue though. The refurbished 180s have a roughly even mix of blue and grey seats.

Have you got a picture of the FGW 180 interior? :)

Page 14 of Issue 307 of the Railway Herald has a picture of the First Class interior. Can't find any more pictures online.

Are my eyes decieving me or is that airline seats in First class?

Yeah they are but there so much leg room that you wouldn't notice and the table in front of you is still much bigger than anything you'd get in an airline seat in standard class (and of course the seat is bigger and comfier as well).

That's ok then, I just didn't think it would be very apt for First Class to have a flimsy flip down table which you can't fit anything on. Would I be right in saying that FGW are the first to have airline seating in 1st class, as I certianly haven't seen anything like it before?

Voyagers have it as well and very comfy it is too (I've sat in first class airline from Glasgow Central to Newcastle).

Ah - I obviously avoid voyagers too much to notice then! :p , although you learn something new everyday...

222s have it as well. Things like 170s did and still do also :)

I'm nearly sure they always had them (before we got rid of them). Can't say I'm overjoyed to see them back, not that I ever worked them.

Yeh, the seating layout hasn't changed, just the seat covers. They'll be a drastic improvement on 166s on the Cotswold Line, good that they'll be pretty much eradicated from the Cotswold Line on weekdays. Hopefully they are more reliable as well.

390s have about 10 airline seats in First Class coach K, which are actually quite popular. If you can get a pair to yourself then you have a nice private slot for your computer/book/paper as well as room for your food and drinks.
