Hello all,

Can anyone remember if there was any fixed formation of Mk2Es on the Fife Circle class 67 loco hauled services, during 2012?

I've seen a couple of videos with 5 Mk2's, and other ones seem to be 6 Mk2s, either with a EWS Maroon BSO, or a BR Blue liveried BSO (one of the Cargo D ones??).

As there were two loco hauled Fife Circle services, was one set a load 5, the other a load 6? Or were they both supposed to be a load 6?

Any help appreciated!

James.

I made the following journeys during the era when the maroon coaches were used.

13 December 2010
67030-6110-6139-5631-9531-5657-5954 (0825 South Gyle to Haymarket)
67024-5632-5924-9529-6152-5959-6036 (0846 Haymarket to Edinburgh)

5 October 2011
67011-3424-3358-9506-3331-3318-3279 (0736 Cardenden to Lochgelly)
67005-9494-3400-9522-5632-5631 (0747 Lochgelly to Edinburgh)

21 November 2011
67007-5657-3292-9522-6110-3400-3279 (1845 Inverkeithing to Edinburgh)

2 February 2012
67028-5632-5657-9522-6110-5954-6139 (1708 Edinburgh to South Gyle)
67005-3400-3358-3424-9506-3318-3292 (1731 South Gyle to Dalmeny)

9 April 2012
67016-5954-5632-5657-9494-6139-6110 (1708 Edinburgh to South Gyle)
67025-3424-3292-3318-9506-3358-3400 (1731 South Gyle to Inverkeithing)

25 June 2012
67011-6139-6110-9506-5631-5657-5632 (1912 South Gyle to Edinburgh)

I suspect that there wasn't a lot of spare stock so when a coach was not available, they dropped the formation from six to five coaches. Also, you will note that first class coaches were being used in one of the formations. You may find more information by searching for one of these coach numbers on the scot-rail discussion forum.
