A Fife Circle train with 30 passengers on board has derailed between Rosyth and Dunfermline Town.

Thankfully, no-one has been injured, but must have been a bit scary nonetheless.

Probably a contact in the emergency services.

Any competent local news reporter will cultivate such contacts!

Most folk on the train now have the means to communicate rapidly with the media these days. I was on the 13:39 Fife Circle today - a lucky escape.

How? An hour between trains

Someone posted it on a well known Scottish enthusiast site. 1417 ex Newcraighall - Edinburgh via Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline

The line is still closed, and is likely to be for some time yet, with buses replacing trains. However, things aren't being helped by the weather, with the Strathore Road in Thornton, which links with the Cluny to Kinglassie road, what then links with the Cluny to Cardenden Road (which buses take) being partly under water, as is the Cluny to Cardenden road.
