It's the film rewards season now, and with the Academy Awards coming up soon, the focus has been on the BAFTAs that took place earlier tonight. The main winners were:

Best film: The Revenant
Best director: Alejandro G Inarritu (Spotlight)
Best actor: Leonardo di Caprio (The Revenant)
Best actress: Brie Larson (Room)
Best supporting actor: Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies)
Best supporting actress: Kate Winslet (Steve Jobs)
Best original screenplay: Spotlight
Best adapted screenplay: The Big Short
Best animated film: Inside Out
Best British film: Brooklyn

Mad Max: Fury Road won four gongs, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens winning 'Best Visual Special Effects' as John Boyega picked up the 'EE: Rising Star' award.

In total, The Revenant won 5 BAFTAs, with MM:FR getting 4. Star Wars: TFA won two BAFTAs, with Spotlight, The Big Short, Room, Bridge of Spies, Steve Jobs, Inside Out and Brooklyn all getting one apiece. The Hateful Eight also picked up a BAFTA for its music.

My question is: what are your opinions on the films featured in the running before the Oscars? Which do you think were particularly good or bad? Please don't divulge any spoilers. TIA.

Hardly surprising the Revenant won - technically fantastic, made with such quality and superbly acted by Di Caprio IF very long and not the most action packed feature

Bridge of Spies is a brilliant film and I feel deserved more than it got. It'll probably be the same at the Oscars.

Oscars tonight.

This image is by Mike Rogalski/Mental Floss. Among the C-3POs, there is an Oscar. Can you spot it?
