Stapleton Road station off limits today. Various things going on. Just south of the station, on the East side, the work in Albion Road to strengthen the embankment retaining wall is nearly complete.

Ducie Road (Pack Horse!) showing raised parapet for deferred electrification, view North towards Lawrence Hill, then South to Dr Days Jn, with 66s on ballast trains.

The newly relaid main lines tied into the existing infrastructure. This seems to be the main achievement of the first week of the blockade.

Many thanks Sean. All going well, and on schedule, by the look of it. An NR mini project to be completed on time?

Dr Days Jn - looking North with the newly relaid main lines extending beyond the crossovers on the right hand side and a 66 heading north on the down relief with new sleepers and ballast.

Then looking South towards Temple Meads, with spent ballast being taken out round the rhubarb curve (left), and new coming in on the right.

On way to Temple Meads saw thus EM 158 at Bart Nil.

Now it's time for Moor Beer...

Had a walk up the upper part of Filton Bank today. Starting with Ashley Hill/Down, looking South.
New signals shining bright.

Horfield, looking South with the old station site in the foreground, then North.

The crossovers for the new Horfield Jn appear complete and more signals have appeared.

Filton Abbey Wood looking South then North. Plenty of work going on to finish the new/extended platforms.

So all the trackwork appears complete, let's hope it's all ready for use next Monday!20181112_125520__1542054140_86.135.10.145.jpg 20181112_202418.jpg

When taking the pics on Monday a member of the orange army said it was 4 days behind. But GWR staff said that it was still due to reopen on Mon 19 Nov.

FOSBR facebook page now saying its been delayed a week. Any truth in that?

My Turbo from Severn Beach to Temple Meads has just been overtaken by a 150 between Stapleton Road and Lawrence Hill...

GWR reported 06.00 BRI BPW not calling at Law Hill or Stap Rd due to points problem. Presumably the new Horfield crossovers?

About to take 07.00 voyager from BRI as far as Parkway.

All lines now appear to be in use, Horfield crossovers in use both ways.

08.30 ex BRI voyager overtook a lste Turbo around Constable Rd.

Orange Army, conspicious by its absence earlier, is now re-emerging.

There were a few minor issues first thing this morning but as I understand it everything is now working well.

Great reporting Sean, most grateful. I hope to take a trip or two with a Bristol Ranger day ticket. I could hopefully sample an IET at the same time but am not sure now many are not ECS along that stretch, if any.

Wasn’t it forecast somewhere a few weeks ago that the PIS might not be working fully until sometime later? I wonder if the platform change was seen on the displays?

A few delayed services on the first day of the new track layout. Teething problems to blame or signallers getting used to pathing trains with the old working timetable?
