Sadly not

Judging by how long it took them to repaint the 456's in NSE livery I would guess that 6024 will be in Connex livery for sometime yet!

Off topic: Is the that a Class 309 in your avatar, Tom C? If so, what livery is that?

Yes Damon it is a 309 (309624 to be precise) and the livery was a promotional one for Manchester Airport back in 1996 which lasted for a good 2 or 3 years.

Remember seeing that monster storming through Bletchley on a Man Apt-Euston as we departed on a goyle for Bedford!

She was my last 309 - 13/5/00 on the 1724 Manchester-Brum which was bashed throughout, i recall a 100mph+ assault of Madeley Bank. This was a farwell for me although the farewell tour itself earlier had been viewed earlier in the day heading for Clacton (I think?)

even more off topic, on that day i also raked in 37421,47747,4x101s and had started the day off with 87015 itself :)

1G77 via Stockport??

My last Clacton was 309624 doing 19:03 Birmingham New Street to Piccadilly via Manchester Airport which was a Saturday, if I recall that workking off the 17:24 Manchester to Brum.

The tour was Clacton to Manchester and return IIRC, I REALLY regret not doing that now.

I wasn't on the farewell tour (which was Manchester-Clacton & return, rather than the other way round), but I did do a tour with a 12-car formation back in 1994 (I think) which ran from Preston to Euston & back which was lively. As I was helping out on the train I even managed to do them into Euston Downside Carriage Shed!
