On the EMT website under the listing of trains that offer breakfast service in First Class, it shows the 8:31 from St Pancras as having full breakfast service.

However in the timetable, it shows it as having light breakfast.

Can anyone confirm which it is?

The online timetable suggests that a light breakfast will be available in First class. Also the catering part on RTT doesn't show that there will be a restaurant service for first class which would also suggest it will be a light breakfast as well.

It's uncommon to get "proper" breakfast service on most business trains of various TOCs departing from London early morning. Despite paying the same first class fares as those coming inwards to London at that time. Even if advertised, it seems to be "unavailable" far mre often than on equivalent services from the opposing terminal.

Where as in second class you are lucky to get a tepid plastic cup of tea and a soggy roll. Chin up old bean. At least you get a seat ;)

if you pay 50 quid extra a full english and half a bottle of prosecco at 8am should be a given, along with being addressed "sir" ,instead of "mate"

(FWIW I would be quite happy in standard with a sausage and bean breville toastie and half a gallon of PG tips!)

Whereas on LNER I had 'alreet bonny lad, we've still got the full evening menu, what tickles yer fancy?'

As a Geordie returning from Yorkshire to home, it was actually quite welcome
