Oh my just saw the pictures! Wales aren’t looking after our native deckers very well!! I always liked the 07 plate B7TLs. They were nicer than the 54 plates as they always seems tidier internally.

I find the 07 plates just as manky as the 54 , 53 plates ha .

Have the 06 plate B7TLs been cascaded somewhere else.

Some in Cymru also I’m sure.

The issue with the B7TLs is that they should have been refurbished long ago along with the B7RLEs. They are good solid buses but refurbing buses isn’t a common thing with First - it tends to be more run them to the ground until they can run no more, sadly.

Odd , were they in the timetable?
No, but i think some of the 60'S buses were late or Broken down, the 54 Plate was Originally on the M60, Then it was on the 60 going to MaryHill, the 05 Plate Originally on the 81, Then it was on the 60 going to the town, I later seen a Gemini head for Parkhead Forge.

33432 is 41 branded, think the rest of the 66 plate MMCs in Glasgow are to be 41 branded

Still a fair few E400MMCs unbranded and on the 41. I’m really not a fan of the yellow 41 branding. I think it was silly to repeat a colour which is used for such a major route like the 75 - plus I’m not keen on the shade of yellow. They should have kept the blue front and branded the 41 blue to match in with the 60/60A and 61 routes.

38 branded decker on a 2 just passed me. I know the 2 definitely could do with deckers from time to time but not the decker I thought I'd see on it lol

Seen one the other night on the 2 as well. And the 19.

I think theres a surplus of branded deckers for 75 and 38.

Yeah definitely. Probably in the 38s case it was caused by the last route and timetable change. Also believe there were too many for the 75 from the beginning

Anyone know what the deal is with the short working 60s? Seen one at Clydebank on a small 52 plate bus with a double decker one sitting in the bus station

Maybe extras or something.

Noticed the branded 2 e300s with stickers on the back stating low emissions. E300s that have been upgraded.

I thought some 38 branded E400MMCs were already debranded? Perhaps they could be doing with more along with some of the 75 buses.

Noticed a lot more branded buses for the 2 appearing. Quite a number were repainted into the new livery but not branded I wonder if there are plans to go back and brand them up or if they’ll just be spares to be used elsewhere.

Overtown’s 67060 has been repainted in new livery.

It really suits it. The E200MMCs suit it better than I thought. I hope they start doing the Caledonia examples and brand them for the Kirky routes since they seem to be occupying those routes along with E400MMCs.

Thanks for this. Goes to show many engine upgrades and new buses are needed since most of these are affected by the low emission zone. All adds up very very quickly

The high frequency routes certainly do use a big pool of buses. I saw on here someone mention Streetdecks, I wonder if the 4/4A could use these as I have noted some of the other First companies use these types on University services like what the 4/4A serve, just a thought.

Certainly worth a go tbh. The passenger numbers have dwindled so much on the 4/4A so it will be interesting to see what they do with them. I think cutting the broomhill to Knightswood section on the 4 and Knightswood to Hyndland through Anniesland and Kelvindale on the 4A has hurt them more than helped. The amount of roadworks in the West end around Glasgow University doesn't help either. Can be quicker to get the 2/3/77 and walk up than getting a 4/4A plus the subway takes a lot away from them. 6/6A has the same problem tbh. Along Great Western Road there's absolutely no need for 12 buses an hour off peak not to mention the very poor reliability that comes with that road too

The 4/4A isn’t what it used to be. At one stage the 44 was a Streamline service along with the 62 but nowadays it’s running at about every 15 minutes. I’d have thought it was a possible contender for new buses like when the 65 plate E400MMCs appeared in 2015 but now wonder whether singles would be better on that route and the frequency increased to every 10/12 minutes perhaps. Failing that refurbed B9TLs I think would do just fine.

I think if Streetdecks did come the 5 would be a good shout for them. I’d have thought the 38 would have been a good route for them if it hadn’t received new E400MMCs already. Unless perhaps there are plans for ‘the One’ peaks to get Streetdecks? The B9TLs they have at current are tired. Although I definitely think the E400XLB would be a better solution to the cramming on peak 1 services!

The amount of cramming on the 1s is unreal tbh. Happens from around 3 til 7 most days and into Glasgow a lot of them can be extremely busy too for most of the day. The bridge at the bottom of Kilbowie Road definitely is problematic though. Could have peak services to Duntocher or Faifley to take out the overcrowding. Would be a good shout tbh

The 4 did get e400mmcs in 2015 . Didn't the Muirend terminators get dropped ? Have seen a few eclipses on the 4 recently , certainly at peak i see the 4s are full , this might be due to fact that the 4 has better route out of the city , straight out of Jamaica st.
At every 15 minutes its essentially two every half hourly services combined. Can see the 4a serving Eaglesham , lifeline service but the 4 to Mearns , might be dropped in future.

Wouldn't be surprised if the 4 got cut to every 20 mins soon and the route cut to Broomhill to Clarkston with short route services created between Clarkston-Newton Mearns/Eaglesham. Could even do one between Newton Mearns and Eaglesham. Even an every 30 min service wouldn't require many buses
