Actually don't mind it although I prefer the 2's branding. Surprised it was so high up on the list of colours they wanted to duplicate so quickly
I don't think many bus passengers will be confused between the Orange 3 in Glasgow and the Orange 254 in Motherwell.

Yeah I wasn't meaning it from that point of view. Was more that there's so many colours still left to use yet there's already been duplicates

The Volvo B10las were new to First Glasgow to be used on the 62. They were transferred down south (not sure where) in 2001 and returned in 2005. The B7las I think came from Southampton and there was one brand new (05 plate) and they were mainly used on the 9 and the 40. The 05 plate was transferred to Aberdeen and the rest were all withdrawn by 2013.

Aberdeen gained more than just 10183 (05 plate).

We gained B7LAs 10136, 10138, 10141, 10144, 10148 & 10183 in 2011 followed by B10LAs 10044, 10045, 10108 & 10110 in 2013/14. 6 B10LAs were due to move but they called off the final two due to the poor condition of them.

10183 left Aberdeen at the end of 2017 joining First Bath in 2018, the rest of the vehicles have since been withdrawn and scrapped meaning that no B10LAs survive.

On a side note 10183 was acquired as a insurance replacement to 10139 which was destroyed in a fire.

how much ALX400s are still in service and what ones?

Still a few about , mostly on 60 and 19. Straying onto other routes like the 5 , 57 and 7 . Seen 2 in a row on the 4 .

Often now just one on the 31 now , the 1717 from Osborne st should booked a decker.

I remember the B7RLEs appearing on the 9 when they were fairly new. The B10LAs and B7LAs were on that route mainly at that time if I recall.

The 9 is fairly popular still so I’m surprised that it’s not had newer buses before now.

I remember the B7RLES coming into service , think it was early 2006 . I think route 18 got them first , was a scotstoun route back then.

Personally, if I was living in paisley I’d take the 38, purely on the quality of the buses.

Yeah guy i know has choice of 38 or 9 to town and gets the 38 . The 9s trump card is the night busm but the 38 has newer buses. 38s seem really frequent . Im envious compared to my infrequent 31.

McGills , night service on 38?

The 38 being every 5 mins between Glasgow and Paisley does give it an advantage. It doesn't have a night bus and I don't see that ever happening. The demand for night buses has really fallen apart compared to even when I went out regularly 4/5 years ago. Only takes 3/4 people getting a taxi to take away £9/12 from the bus and that's a lot considering most people get taxis so it would result in tons of lost revenue.

I couldn't remember First Aberdeen receiving the older B7las but you've jogged my memory now that you say it and yes they were in a very poor state.

10183 was new to Parkhead Depot to be used on service 40 then transferred to Scotstoun 3 or 4 years later but I thought 10139 was burnt out around 2010/11.

Seen a solo on a 6 a couple of times tbh although with how quiet I've seen 6s at times they fit it well lol. Seems to be all sorts on different services these days

Must be an absolute ton of maintenance going on at Caley tbh although with the 2 and 3 both getting branding just now that would also make sense as to why there's a lot of changes to what's appearing. I've always wondered why other buses come in and take over the next run of a service although it could just be easier with driver shifts etc. Seen it on a Sunday with the 8A at Maryhill. Bus goes away as a not in service but then another bus turns up and sits before going to Riddrie

Yeah seen one at 5ish once at Cowcaddens towards East Kilbride lol. If it was towards Clydebank at that time it would probably have been okay with the 6s I've been on lately. Been fairly dead at peaks compared to most services I use

The B10LA's we received were in really good condition, but they had overhaul work prior to transfer, it was the condition of the others that were planned to move that was the issue.

The Ex-Hampshire B7LAs were appalling, especially when compared to our native (and older) W-FAL batch. And yes you're right it wasn't 10139 (which burned out later).

Definitely seeing a massive change in what appears where. Only really used to see the smaller buses on 81, M11 and M60 and now they're getting spread around. Combination of branding to the 2 and 3 coupled with maintenance probably being the main reasons for it though

I remember the 05 plate B7LAs being so much nicer and a step up than the W/X plates. I used to get them on the 40 and sometimes they’d stray on to the 61 or 62 rarely. They were nice buses. I miss a bit of variety.

Just before the B10LAs went to Aberdeen, they started appearing on the 62 a bit more during peaks.

I wonder what Aberdeen will do when the bendy buses come up for replacement. I wonder what high capacity buses they can use. I don’t know which bendy buses are available for the UK these days unless they go for an Enviro or Wright bus but I assume they’d need to commit to more orders so perhaps they could order some for Glasgow permitting they manage to create a Euro 6 variation?

I could only imagine how cosy those little darts would become on a peak time 57 or 6 working. That route is busy throughout the day imo.

The 6 on the south side lately from experience has been far busier than the north side of the city centre. The 1s are far quicker to go to Clydebank, Whitecrook and Yoker then the subway is well more favourable to Hillhead etc. They usually run close to empty between Anniesland and Clydebank off peak from what I've seen more and more lately

Seen a couple of branded 2s together today. Many are done now? Also seen a 41 branded decker on the 43. Never ever known the 43 to be busy enough to warrant a decker in fairness

Anyone ever had to deal with water leaking through the ceiling of the bus they've been on? Pretty sure the 51 plate 1E I'm not long off of is the 3rd/4th time within 18 months

Busy at the minute with maintenance along with vehicle branding. Another 240 has shown up for new paintwork along with other work.
