It could have been running instead of a minibus to swap spare driver but may be possible it was running empty to Crookfur to start on 38 for some of the day.. That photo earlier it could running empty from Chryston back to Cally..
Interesting , i thought airport buses were not allowed on normal routes, does not apply the other way around.
Considering there is still a Gemini kicking about with flip dot in Glasgow, I doubt it. Although still surprised that the bus in question didn't get a orange LED display from one of the scrapped buses. This may sound a bit ridiculous but I’ve noticed certain railway stations are replacing the orange LED screens with the white LED. All of the new stock coming in has the white coloured letters do you think First will start to replace the orange like they did with the flipdot screens back when the B10BLEs and B7Ls were newer? I saw some of the E300s which went down south for park and ride duties have had theirs replaced also.

67721, see post 5061.Don't know if anyone else has noticed this before but I've seen a couple of E300s on 1s where the writing at the front was still orange but the side was white. Think it was a 1B and then a 1C a few days later just before Christmas

Some 53 plate geminis still have flipdots , think most have been done.
Seen B10BLE other night with flipdot too , how did we see back then >

If they were going to change them they would’ve done so at the refurbishment. First are not going to waste money on something so unnecessary.I am going to guess the buses that have been refurbished/route branded could be changed to white displays. The E300 in question was changed to white as the display was broken and the part they ordered/received was an white display.
Keywords "Guess" and "Could"If they were going to change them they would’ve done so at the refurbishment. First are not going to waste money on something so unnecessary.
I've never had any issues with flipdots, maybe the bus you saw had a faulty light.

Refurbs on 2 are still the same.
No E300s have been internally refurbishedHave the E300s on the 2 actually been internally refurbished also? I thought they had just been branded and retrofitted.
I don’t think they’ve all been retrofitted. Some appear to have the usual Euro 5 sticker on the back, others have the Euro 6 one and another at the bottom saying it’s been retrofitted and an arrow pointing at the exhaustHave the E300s on the 2 actually been internally refurbished also? Vehicles are still being done, as Jordan has said its what is available that gets done next. No order of vehicles.I don’t think they’ve all been retrofitted. Anyone noticed on eclipses and maybe geminis , when the driver releases the handbrake , the horn sounds slightly .
It's not the horn, it's just the air being released. Leylands were well known for making all manners of noises when the handbrake was applied/released. Also, Dennis Dominators had a characteristic 'yelp' when the foot brake was released.
I remember the Dennis Dominators on the 41 and the 8 at the time made quite an iconic noise
There was two types of these , older ones and newer ones that came to Larky on recall them on the 38.
IIRC all of the Dominators operated out of Knightswood and then Scotstoun depot until withdrawal. If any appeared on the 38 they'd have more than likely been on loan. The H reg Dominators were dual door and had Gardner/Voith running gear and were slower than a week in the jail however the two J plated examples were single door and had Cummins/ZF running gear.
