New brew from St Austell that! Although if your in the Star Inn, Potion No.9 always goes down a treat! It's also brewed on the premises with the micro-brewery out the back!
Although this is, I realise, not a discussion on Cornish brews my preferred pint also comes from St. Austell and is known as Korev.

On the subject of training buses anyone know what happened to the Dart that was a training bus with First Kernow? Was it 42252? Last report I can recall was in use st Dawlish when the railway line was washed away 5 years ago.
there is a photo on flickr and it shows 42252 in muller road depot on 27th July 2016. that seems to be the last photo of it

Over recent weeks the T1 & T2 services have been re-routed in west Cornwall due to resurfacing works at Connor Downs. The T1 has been going along the A30 between Loggans Roundabout at Hayle and Camborne West. The T2 has carried along the "old A30" serving Roseworthy then turning right at the entrance to Connor Downs before heading into Gwithian. By the pub it turns left out along the entrance to Gwithian Towans before rejoining the existing route at Dynamite Corner. The work should be completed tomorrow.

E200 44920 has been repainted green, Dart 42871 has lost it's rear advert wrap and now has Urban front and sides and a Barbie rear!

I managed to photograph 42871 at Camborne bus station recently.

Difference is that the Dart will probably come out of service sooner rather than later. The B7RLE had a longer term future, did it later get repainted in BoS colours?

The latest post on Facebook from FKbs

'Our latest acquisitions are four Volvo Wrights double deckers.
37058 and 37729 will be joining the open top fleet in due course.
37178 and 37179 will join the fleet after painting.'

37058 is a Volvo B7TL from Bradford with no roof following an accident.
37178/37179 are Volvo B7TL from Glasgow.
37729 is a Volvo B9TL from Leeds (Bramley) with roof damage following an accident.
37058 and 37729 are to be additional open top vehicles.

Anyone got any idea when these will be arriving with First Kernow? Previously open top conversions were done ‘in house’ at Camborne.

I wonder if they are being done elsewhere and will arrive ready for service in time for the May timetable change.

Do any coaches actually get used in public service, such as on school or college services, or are they purely for private hire?

Also are any MMCs actually booked to be used on schools and colleges or is any appearance an unusual working?

Some of the Truro college services are coaches.

E400mmcs are common sight at Truro college too.

Adding to richw's comments, the Tinner and green coloured E400MMC's regularly work Truro college services but the blue Uni one's are rarely seen.

The Truro college services are the main source of work for the coaching fleet outside private hire and rail replacement.

Don't forget St Austell college or Duchy! I've seen quite a lot on those routes including B7 ALX400s (no longer), Presidents, MMCs, Irizars, BMCs (horrid things that should never have been made), Dennis Darts (MPDs & SLFs), Plaxton Cheetahs (four of which were sold on some time ago, these being 56001 - 4), the Vamooz & Atlantic Coaster Presidents (very rarely), and sometimes even the B12Bs. Though since last year all I've seen are Presidents, Irizars, B12Bs, and the green E400 MMCs, oh and WK52 SYE (32755).

Aside from that, anybody know what's happened/happening with 20357, 20358, 20363, & 40325?

20357/8/63 were in store at Penzance late last summer. Have they disappeared from there then?

Camborne college is served by the 18C and extensions of routes 38 & L2 on certain journeys. Other operators such as Wheal Briton also provide services here.

Helston school has similar arrangements with a mix of dedicated school buses and service buses calling at the start and end of the school day.

Correct, though it's been strictly allocated double deckers only, so no more coaches or single deckers for the 252

I know it’s a Trident. I take over that vehicle twice a week when it arrives back at Summercourt at 0920. Seems to be 33153 a lot on the days I take over the bus.

Two new Solos at Camborne, one Atlantic Coaster and one Lizard. Both unidentifiable as number plates taped over. Possibly WK68 BTV/X.
