My friend in Ludgvan Leaze reported a decker on the 16 yesterday, possibly a first since the route was reconfigured: apparently there's a shortage of serviceable single decks at Pz.

The last time I saw a decker round that way was a Penzance VR running day, was one of Western Greyhounds VRs.

Dart 43810 is stopped at Camborne with a gearbox fault, whilst 42942 was stopped as well. Marshall Dart 41490 departed Camborne heading west with sorry not in service displayed. It may have been a test drive after repairs but I did not see it return. Several other Dart's undergoing maintenance.

Dart 43860 has moved from Taunton at some point in recent weeks and was seen in service in Camborne today.

There was an Olympian on the 18 passing Truro College at about 1850. A beautiful yet rare sight on the 18

That certainly is rare these days. I have seen a Volvo B7TL on the 14/18 from time to time but not an Olympian for a number of months.

Any idea what happened to the Western Greyhound VR since they finished operating?

It was privately owned by mark howarth not western greyhound, however It was sold to Orchards at St Blazey in October 2015 according to several online sources so I assume the worst.

It's been reported that 34138 is pretending to be a Class 143 today on rail replacement between Newton Abbot and Paignton.

34138 back at PZ, on the 1A today. Last Tuesday it was on the 10/A, probably interworked onto the 17.

Saw 34138 today on the 1A in Market Jew Street, Penzance and in the sunshine 32716 resplendent in Western National green with First logos in between duties in Penzance Bus Station, deserving a wash.

Ar exactly the time you posted, I came out of the Nat West Bank and saw 34138 bound for Lands End at the Green market stop. Almost threw caution to the wind and rushed to catch it, but a waiting wife and dog brought me back to sad reality.

Do we know how many Olympians are left now?

16 closed-top and 1 open-top

4 of the deckers on hire to Stagecoach are awaiting collection from Plymouth, with the other 4 being prepared for return by Stagecoach. 3 Tridents are due shortly to transfer from BoS following the return of the 4 B7Ls from Stagecoach which have gone to BoS. The Sheffield Trident that made it to Taunton where it was towed in is awaiting assessment for repair, in which case it will join the Kernow fleet. Finally, four Midlands B7TLs are due to transfer to Kernow in the next couple of months.

L311PWR (I think that's the registration from memory) is the only FSW closed-top Olympian not pre-sold, and is the one closed top we're currently hanging on to.

New(er) open tops are in the plan for conversion this year (15/16), but with a view to having them available for the 16 season, so the open-top Olympian will be out this season.

The Olympians I have on my list (which is pretty much taken from UK Buses) is the following:-
34041/49/50/51/52
34137/8
34162/72/73/77/81/82/83/84/85
34311
38000/1/2/5/6

FSW can you tell me what you have still got there now out of this?

Also can you tell me if these have all been withdrawn:-
41383
42255
42469/71/72/75/77
42521/2
42719
42843
50276/78/84/85
53001/12/13/14

I'm assuming that the Marshall will still be around (as that's probably compliant), but the rest I have no idea.
