Yes.Does the new corporate livery, purple and pale grey, mean that the Sheffield dark blue/light blue/cream colours and the Doncaster's Red Buses identity will be phased out now?

Why on earth is the 80a still listed?SYMCA have finally published the new Sheffield network map, a week after the new routes started!
Both 80 and 80a are wrong as the 80 now just does Killamarsh-Chesterfield as the bit between Crystal Peaks and Killamarsh is now the 120k. SYMCA have obviously failed to update that! Why on earth is the 80a still listed?
It often feels as if it gets a lot of demonstrators, but very few actual orders of new buses! It feels like Sheffield gets a lot of demonstrators (although that might be my naivety). Is that due to the hilly nature of the lovely city?

In addition First Buses fleet manager is based in Sheffield (Olive Grove)As stated the 51 is a challenging route with steep hills ideal for testing the capabilities and range of Electric buses. The current idea seems to be trial absolutely anything on the market to assess the most ideal option when an order is placed - quite logical really, and with lots of B9TLs coming up for replacement I’m sure it won’t be too long before a decision is made.
So far the following have been trialled from memory:
Volvo BZL DD
Wright StreetDeck Electroliner
Wright StreetDeck NewPower (converted ex diesel)
Yutong U11DD
With the brand new ADL Enviro 400EV in post #156 due to be next. So that just leaves the new BYD BD11 offering I believe.
Yep. Very hilly and runs past Olive Grove for quick switching if necessary.think one of the main reasons is route 51 is good for testing buses
The 51 service running inbound from the Broomhill/Crosspool direction turns left at the bottom of Rockingham Street and then does a full circle of the roundabout where it meets Arundel Gate to double back on itself along Furnival Gate. Does anyone know why it does this as it seems a rather odd route
Is the 51 route chosen because it is(was) the urban route that climbs most in the UK?SYMCA have finally published the new Sheffield network map, a week after the new routes started! https://www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/en-gb/timetabledetails/a0573aa9-e4db-4cfe-ab58-853d4e6130a2
In other news, First SY are back trialing electric buses on route 51.. details at https://www.firstbus.co.uk/south-yorkshire/ev-test-bus
I suppose that makes sense, though it wouldn't take that long to send it all the way into the Interchange, which would also improve connectivity a fair bitAlthough all journeys do it, I believe it’s primarily for driver reliefs in that direction as it’s the closest the 51 heading in that direction get to Arundel Gate and the Interchange since Leopold Street was closed.
Could be, as I know First buses use that route forr demonstrator buses because of the terrain, and also as the companies fleet manager is based at Olivie Grove (Sheffield)Is the 51 route chosen because it is(was) the urban route that climbs most in the UK?
Don't think there was any refurbished e400s, only the sn12 and sl14 plates but think the sn12's went to Essex and the sl14's went to WorcesterI saw some refurbished Enviro 400s when I had time to stop off in Sheffield when changing there in 2022.
I now see on Bustimes that the StreetDecks from Leeds have replaced these.
One of you might have covered this here at the time, but do you know where those refurbished Enviro 400s went?
IIRC there was only one repainted E400 in Sheffield blue which went to SomersetI saw some refurbished Enviro 400s when I had time to stop off in Sheffield when changing there in 2022.

Thank you for your replies. I thought I had seen one with purple seats in September 2022.IIRC there was only one repainted E400 in Sheffield blue which went to Somerset

Oh, so I must have seen 33717 and falsely believed that the batch was refurbished.33717 which is now In Somerset Green.
33717 was the only one with recovered cloth seats with purple/black trim which went to Somerset partially as it is not Euro6 so would not have been able to operate on Sheffield routes due to Clean Air Zone same with the other 12 plates.
The 14 plates are all at Worcester, 33858, 33859, 33861 went via Bristol.

I am pleased you told me, as I am now less disappointed to be missing out when I come to the area later this month.
An oddity according to the timetables is that routes X1/X2 from Sheffield to Doncaster appear not to use Sheffield Interchange but route X3 (formerly X78) still does.
As routes X1/X2/X3 were using a motley collection of Volvo B9TLs yesterday, including precious few of the 12 reg refurbished for route X3, I compromised and used one (37112) in First Doncaster livery refurbished with purple striped seats.
Quite a few, but by no means all, such B9TLs in Sheffield have this moquette now.
Some Volvo B7RLEs ex-Bristol have been refurbished and given grey leather seats, such as 69502 which I rode. Conversely, some early StreetDecks have been refurbished and given a new moquette in place of the leather seats.
