I dunno, I think TPE still wins.
That looks incredibly smart. Very impressed.
Pretty bland and uninspiring livery to my eyes, but whatever. What's more important is how they'll be as a TOC and how effectively they can implement their proposed changes to further improve what I think is already a really good service.
I'll eat my words I really like that, and the Preston running in board design
That new livery reminds me of LNWR
Maybe that's the idea for the future when West Midland Trains split off London Northwestern Railway (LNR).
Oh and on news wires down North of Preston and the usual chaos!
I hope that the splicing of "Avanti West Coast service..." into announcements isn't too clunky.
They may just say Avanti, as they do with LNER, they just say LNER, not London North Eastern Railways
I can only guess that every time there is a ticket price rise, or a Thameslink-like setback on the West Coast, the press will complain about passengers being put at a "disavantige"?
No, that pun makes no sense at all. It is too clunky.
Maybe just shorten to Avanti Pendolino /Avanti Voyager / Avanti new train name / Avanti High Speed (not official brand, hopefully they go for something more interesting than high speed)
I was about to say the same thing. Hopefully the two will look neat side-by-side!
It would look so good if only the dark grey at the front was white
It's not a million miles away from GW either.
But why is it running wrong line?
It's a stock photo, don't read too much into it. Please.
Looks far nicer than the purple undesign we have on EMR.
Well at least it’s not First Horizon Trains.
New website is up: https://www.avantiwestcoast.co.uk/
Avanti West Coast
The video is a bit rubbish, isn't it? I'm not sure the voice was the right choice - it's a bit generic and not at all friendly.
Video? What video?! Not one showing up for me using iPhone? Is it only showing on the desktop version?
It's not Virgin Trains ....
It's to the sort of standard I'd expect to see at 2130 this evening on BBC1...
Not a patch on the quite cool little videos that were done for the TPE Novas.
Here is their Twitter, link from their website!
The train colour is green, assuming the video on the web site is accurate.
Not as dark as GWR though - more of a turquoise.
It appears to be pretty much: https://www.farrow-ball.com/paint-c...MIxIXBm4-L5gIVCflRCh0pWwt8EAQYASABEgJLEvD_BwE
Which isn't quite green and isn't quite blue, so it's not surprising some are seeing it as one and some as the other.
The all-over green train on the video is a GWR 80x.
9-6 Monday to Friday is pretty poor? Surely the support account should run whenever the trains are running?
I expect this is just for the initial pre-launch period.
Considering Virgin offers 24/7 on twitter I would expect similar hours or at least until the last train hopefully :P
