Great photos - there was a good turn out of young and old folk at Twyford station this morning as Flying Scotsman passed through bang on time at 10:38.

One remark that always tickles me, is the one made by the Late Alan Peglar. Given the chance he'd have preferred to preserve Papyrus instead. But the Americans couldn't say Papyrus! Which was also the faster of the none streamlined Gresley Pacific's, being built new as an A3 "Super Pacific" the upgraded version of the type being fitted from new with an 220psi rather than 180psi boiler of the A1.

I would say he got quite a bargain when he purchased 60103. The engine was only seven months on from a General Repair, and in good working order with a reconditioned 220lb pressure boiler. All the Gresley A1/A10 rebuilds to A3 were given such boilers.
