Ubuntu Linux is doing something great, they're offering free CDs to anyone - free of charge, with free shipping as well! All you must do is register at http://www.LaunchPad.net, login into https://shipit.ubuntu.com/, and all you must provide is your mailing address. I ordered 1 PC CD, 1 64-Bit CD, and one Mac CD. But you can also order any quantity you like, within reason. It's pretty good if you want to give them out to friends too, you can get up to 40 PC CDs, 10 64-Bit CDs, and 5 Mac CDs without question.

This is great news for anyone who doesn't want to burn a Linux distro, and deal with complicated download sites, the .ISO format, and all that muck. It's also a good Windows alternative if you ask me.

This is authentic, it isn't a scam. Ubuntu is a major distrobution of Linux - I'm quite sure they can be trusted.

Once again, it's completely free - no shipping charges or anything.

It's quite a good distro, though I heard that they can be a little slow in arriving. I got a few off a friend who had 50 delivered :).

I would not recommend ubuntu, it has quite a few unfixed bugs on the CD version - I would suggest you download it. It took me a month and a bit to recieve my disks.

If you want Linux / Unix, the quick way is to download Darwin, the MACos. See http://darwin.apple.com

Ubuntu is sponsored by a famous businessman who wishes to be un-named, as such they are despatched generally from a number of countries but mainly Germany or the Netherlands.
