Just goes to show the Transport Police don't know what they are talking about, I never knew that coal went in carriages!

But what has a freight train derailment got to do with the police. Why can't they be bothered to get some criminals and not just try and sort stuff out that they have nothing to do with.

I presume that the BTP have to investigate these kind of incidents - I would have thought that it was a requirement.

seems odd to have a derailment only months after the line was reopened for passenger use and after having ridden the line 4times in one day with a few forum members it is shocking to hear! :o

Lots- for example was there anything on the line? They must eliminate criminal activity, though in this case it shouldn't take long.

BTW I wonder what the passengers will make of the carriages once the coal has been removed

Picturing that, looks fun...You'd come out covered in coal dust after sitting down! People would think the mines have re-opened in the Valleys!

The BTP have to be out to investigate this sort of thing, not just because there could have been something out to make it derail, but vandals have been vandalising locos and stuff a LOT in the Valleys lately.

47848 certainly got dealt with by vandals last week. 37408 is believed to have been under their attacks too.
